About the lecturer

Margarida Figueiredo studied molecular biology and genetics in Lisbon (Portugal), has done a PhD in epigenetics in Umea (Sweden) and a postdoc in cancer epigenetics in Melbourne (Australia). After she moved into research management and administration as she wanted to be linked to science but in a support role to researchers. She has started by managing a MSCA-Doctoral Network international consortium in Coimbra (Portugal). After this she moved to Germany where have been working in grants management and proposal preparation support (first at a university and now for the last 3,5 years at EMBL).

She gives trainings on MSCA-PF and funding to postdocs at EMBL, organizes ERC brainstorming sessions and mock interviews, and has successfully supported researchers applying to several research grants, with proofreading and hands on support, especially to ERC-STG, ERC-SYG, MSCA-PF, MSCA-COFUND, and several Widening calls (Teamings, Twinings, Era talent, etc).
