Learn how to use participatory research methods
Expand your professional knowledge and discover how the connection between science and the public works.
Students, scientists, educators, librarians, and other professionals working in the field of cultural heritage or non-profit organizations, accept our invitation to the Summer School of Citizen Science.
It will take place from September 7 to 11, 2026, in Smolenice and is organized by the Slovak Centre of Scientific and Technical Information, the Central Library of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, and the Institute of Geonics of the Czech Academy of Sciences.
As the organizers stated, participants will gain competencies in using participatory research methods. They will actively share experiences, connecting the citizen science community of practice in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
The program includes lectures by representatives of Czech and Slovak citizen science projects, as well as field trips where participants will get acquainted with practical examples of using citizen science applications. They will also design their own model citizen science project and receive feedback on it.
Parallel to the Summer School program, a meeting of the Czech and Slovak citizen science platform will take place on September 9, 2026.
