As part of the FORGENOM project, Dr. Ondrej Pös participated in the Science and Career Day held on 9 December 2025 at the Gymnázium V. B. Nedožerského in Prievidza.

During the event, he delivered a science-outreach lecture entitled “Breath-Taking Genetics: Every Breath Has Its Story”, focusing on the principles and clinical potential of liquid biopsy and breath biopsy. The lecture introduced high-school students to modern, minimally invasive biomedical research approaches and demonstrated how genetic information can be obtained from blood or exhaled breath condensate, with particular relevance to early disease detection and cancer research.

This type of outreach activity plays an important role in the FORGENOM project by increasing awareness of contemporary biomedical research and genomics, making science more accessible and attractive to young audiences and encouraging students to pursue university studies in natural and biomedical sciences. Engagement with secondary schools and direct interaction between researchers and students represent a forward-looking investment in the next generation of scientists and in the long-term development of research excellence in Slovakia.
