Workshop: Cross-Cutting Topics in Research

As part of the FORGENOM II project, the workshop “Cross-Cutting Topics in Research” was organised to strengthen key transferable skills essential for modern scientific careers.

The event was primarily aimed at PhD students and early-career researchers, while also being open to a broader audience interested in developing competencies beyond core scientific expertise. The programme covered a range of important transversal topics, including scientific publishing and communication, data management, research ethics and integrity, as well as intellectual property protection and technology transfer.

Participants gained practical insights into how to effectively communicate research results, manage and share data responsibly, uphold ethical standards, and translate scientific findings into real-world applications. The workshop also introduced opportunities for innovation support and entrepreneurship within the academic environment.

This activity reflects the broader objectives of FORGENOM II to complement scientific training with transferable skills, supporting the development of a well-rounded and internationally competitive research community
