FORGENOM at European Researchers’ Night 2026: Meet Us in Bratislava on 25 September

We are pleased to announce that FORGENOM will once again take part in Researchers’ Night 2026, one of the largest science outreach events in Slovakia. Join us on 25 September 2026 at the Old Market Hall (Stará tržnica) in Bratislava for an inspiring evening of science, discovery, and innovation.

As part of the programme,  Jakub Styk, PhD., a researcher from the Centre for Genomics and Bioinformatics, Comenius University Science Park, will deliver a lecture focused on the latest advances in liquid biopsy and its potential for early cancer detection.

Modern cancer diagnostics are increasingly moving towards non-invasive approaches that can detect disease at its earliest stages. During his presentation, Dr. Styk will introduce the concept of liquid biopsy and explain how circulating cell-free DNA in blood plasma can provide valuable information about the presence and development of cancer. Attendees will gain insight into how cutting-edge sequencing technologies and bioinformatics tools are being used to identify genomic alterations and develop more accurate and accessible screening methods.
