FORGENOM Matchmaking connected science, industry, and young talent

On 25 March 2026, the FORGENOM Matchmaking networking event took place at the Comenius University Science Park in Bratislava as part of the NextStep Science Conference 2026.

The event brought together representatives of research institutions, innovative companies, and early-stage researchers active in the fields of biomedicine and biotechnology. Its main objective was to strengthen the link between academia and practice, create a space for expert discussion, and identify new opportunities for collaboration.

Among the participants were also students of natural sciences, who had the opportunity to establish direct contact with potential employers and gain insight into career opportunities, internships, and PhD positions. The matchmaking format enabled an efficient exchange of information and supported the creation of new professional connections.

The programme consisted of a series of short presentations by participating organisations – IProbio, Geneton, the Academic Centre for Autism Research, GeneTiCA Group, Slovgen, ProScience Tech, and the Centre for Personalised Medicine. The organisations presented their activities, research focus, and opportunities for collaboration with students and young researchers.

The event concluded with informal networking, providing space for deeper discussions and the development of future collaborations among participants.

FORGENOM Matchmaking contributed to strengthening cooperation between academia and industry, supported the career development of young researchers, and highlighted the importance of linking research with practice for fostering innovation in Slovakia.
